‘Living the life of rest’ (2) ‘

The time when rest needed to be restated’   Deuteronomy 5:1-21

When we went to the beach at Foreness Point as a family we did so for a particular reason. We went because we had a beach hut there.

Every spring the hut was taken out of storage and put up on the same spot on the promenade and gradually filled up with all the things necessary for enjoying a day at the beach.

As a child I seem to remember every beach day being a sun kissed day. Whereas, when we took our children to the beach and beach hut, I seem to remember lots of rain drenched days with us sheltering from the rain in the hut.

As a child the beach hut made the promenade and the beach feel just like home, a safe and secure place to play in.

This describes something of how the Sabbath was thought of in the Old Testament.

Please can you have with you something, such as an umbrella, that describes shelter and security to you when we come to pray together in the service.

Please take this time to worship and to be encouraged together. You can find the service on our YouTube Channel using the link below. (available from 8 am on Sunday 16th May)
