Two Adults Required
Transferring from upright storage, setting up and putting back into storage are 2 person jobs. The table is not particularly heavy, but can be unwieldy and dangerous if dropped, so an extra person is essential for safe operation.
Once it is set up for playing it can be moved around the church easily by one person.
Key Parts

Storage Bag
Transfer and Setting Up
1 Gently push top to relieve tension and remove strap. Place strap in blue bag.
2 Swing outwards on castors so blue baize is towards you.
3 Hold table on both sides and pull along the corridor to the space by the side door.
4 Check all clamping bolts are loose and then with somebody holding it steady remove locking pins and gently lower the frame down. The legs should fall into place. Once legs are in position, fully tighten 4 clamping bolts and then holding top end slightly off the ground pull through the door and then pull / push into desired position
Taking Down and Storage
Essentially this is a reversal of the setting up procedure, starting with putting all the balls, triangle, chalk and brush in the storage bag and retrieving the safety strap ready for use.
Additional Points
1) Clamping Bolts—All 4 should be loosened and tightened at the same time and they must never be taken completely out as this destabilises the whole table.
2) Locking Pins—Essential that they are put in place immediately the table is transferred to the upright position and before it is moved anywhere when upright. They should be left out when in the lowered position because the table will not fold up properly if they are left in whilst the table is being raised. If there is difficulty inserting them to lock in the upright position simply hold the clamping bolt and pull slightly up whilst the pin is pushed home. Essential that there is someone on the other side whilst you do this.
3) Cues—should be stored separately in the boiler room
4) Castors— These are only designed to work when the other end of the table is lifted slightly. If lifted too far it will lock again on the forward edge. This prevents the table rolling away when it is being transferred up or down. It will move easily on the castors once you get the hang of how much to lift the feet off the ground.
5) Vigilance— Keep checking that no adults or children are in the vicinity when it is being raised or lowered.
