Living the life of the Spirit filled with Love’
Welcome to Sunday morning worship.
In about 1845 Tom Smith, a London sweet maker, began selling sweets with a motto or joke wrapped in pretty paper, because he’d seen how popular they were in Paris. But they didn’t sell very well.
The story goes that one evening sitting in front of his log fire, his attention was caught by the way the logs would spark and crack and he thought wouldn’t be fun if, when his sweets and toys were opened, it would be to the sound of a crack? In 1861 he launched his new range called ‘Bangs of Expectation’; we call them crackers.
This Sunday will also be a Communion Sunday as our usual Sunday will be our Carols by Candlelight service and that service will have plenty within it.
Please take this time to worship and to be encouraged together. You can find the service on our YouTube Channel using the link below. (available from 8 am on Sunday 6th December) The sermon notes are at the bottom of the page.
